* Title:Spear head
Excavation number: HR 4401
*

Excavation notes:
This spear head was found broken in four pieces within a group of houses that were perhaps shops or sleeping quarters. It is probably made of beaten copper. This spear head was found 3 feet below the surface.

Location: 5, XXXIII

Other notes:
Spear heads like this were made by beating or casting bronze. They were probably used as weapons. However, metal weapons like this are not commonly found at Indus Valley sites. In fact, the actual number of weapons found at Indus Valley sites is very low.

It took a lot of time and skill for Indus Valley craftsmen to create objects out of metal. Thus, metal tools and weapons would probably have been highly valued and owned by important, wealthy or powerful people.
